1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Courtab ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Courtab.
2. Description of Service
Courtab is a mobile application that helps users plan events, track RSVPs, and split expenses among participants. The Service provides tools for organizing group activities and managing shared costs, but does not process payments or transfer money directly.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian consent to use the Service.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe on the rights of others
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent expense information
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
5. Expense Splitting Disclaimer
Important: Courtab is a tool for tracking and calculating shared expenses. We do not:
- Process, transfer, or hold any money
- Guarantee the accuracy of expense calculations
- Mediate disputes between users regarding payments
- Provide financial, tax, or legal advice
You are solely responsible for settling debts with other users through your own means. Courtab is not responsible for any disputes, losses, or damages arising from expense sharing arrangements between users.
6. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (event details, expense descriptions, photos, etc.). By submitting content, you grant Courtab a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the right to share it. We may remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content), is owned by Courtab and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Courtab and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
- Service interruptions or errors
- Disputes between users
- Unauthorized access to your account
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service in the past twelve months, or $100, whichever is greater.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
