How do I create a game?

Open Courtab in your browser at app.courtab.app, pick a group, and use the '+' button to create a game. Add the date, time, place, and how many people can play. Once it's created, your group members can RSVP straight away.

How does expense splitting work?

When you add an expense to a group, Courtab automatically calculates how much each person owes. You choose who paid and who shares the cost, and Courtab keeps a running balance so everyone knows who owes what.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use Firebase for authentication and data storage, which provides enterprise-grade security. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your personal information to third parties.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Courtab runs entirely in your web browser. Just go to app.courtab.app on your phone or computer and sign in—there's nothing to download or update.

Can I use Courtab without an account?

You need an account to create groups, plan games, and track expenses. You can sign up in seconds using your Google or Apple account, or with an email sign-in link.

How do I settle up with friends?

Courtab shows you who owes what, but actual payments happen outside Courtab. You can use Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or any payment method you prefer. Once settled, you can mark the expense as paid in Courtab.

Can I edit or delete an expense?

Yes! As the expense creator, you can edit or delete expenses at any time. Open the group, find the expense, and select it to see edit and delete options.

How do I leave a group?

Open the group, go to its settings, and choose 'Leave Group'. Note: if you have outstanding balances, you'll need to settle them first.

Is Courtab free to use?

Yes! Courtab is free to use. We may introduce premium features in the future, but core functionality like planning games and splitting expenses will always be free.
