How do I create an event?

Open the app and tap the '+' button on the home screen. Enter your event details like name, date, and description. Once created, you can invite friends by sharing the event link or adding them directly.

How does expense splitting work?

When you add an expense to an event, Courtab automatically calculates how much each participant owes. You can split expenses equally, by percentage, or by exact amounts. The app keeps a running balance so everyone knows who owes what.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use Firebase for authentication and data storage, which provides enterprise-grade security. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your personal information to third parties.

Can I use Courtab without an account?

You need an account to create events and track expenses. However, you can sign up quickly using your Google or Apple account for a seamless experience.

How do I settle up with friends?

Courtab shows you who owes what, but actual payments happen outside the app. You can use Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or any payment method you prefer. Once settled, you can mark the expense as paid in the app.

Can I edit or delete an expense?

Yes! As the expense creator, you can edit or delete expenses at any time. Go to the event, find the expense, and tap on it to see edit and delete options.

How do I leave an event?

Open the event, tap the settings icon, and select 'Leave Event'. Note: if you have outstanding balances, you'll need to settle them first or transfer them to another participant.

Is Courtab free to use?

Yes! Courtab is free to download and use. We may introduce premium features in the future, but core functionality like event creation and expense splitting will always be free.
